Soundproof Box Testing Process
STEP 1
Equipment Setup
Items for Testing
1. Soundproof Box
2. Artificial Mouth
3. Microphone
4. PXI-4461 Sound and Vibration Module
5. Cables
6. Computer, Monitor and Software (LabVIEW)
* Soundproof testing is conducted by certificated third party.
STEP 2
Soundproof Testing
Start Testing
1. Place microphone and artificial mouth inside and outside soundproof box with the postion 30cm away from the box.
2. Record the ambient noise data received by the microphone inside with opened door (as the picture shown below):
(1) Door Open
(2) Play white noise (90±5% dB) with artificial mouth outside the box
(3) Record sound level of the microphone inside the box in decibels
3. Record the ambient noise data received by the microphone inside with closed door (as the picture shown below):
(1) Door Close
(2) Play white noise (90±5% dB) with artificial mouth outside the box
(3) Record sound level of the microphone inside the box in decibels
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 to measure 4 sides data - front, back, left and right - of soundproof box.
STEP 3
Acoustic Data Interpretation
Finish testing, data interpretation
The difference between measured data with the soundproof box door open and close represents the sound insulation performance (in dB) under a 90dB ambient noise condition.
